Installation type 02

High-bay racking

We install racking for stacker cranes in automated warehouses – up to 34 metres high, in cold stores and in winter. To the integrator’s drawings, with tolerance checks at every stage.

How it works

Racking up to 34 m for stacker cranes. The crane runs on a rail in the aisle and places pallets on every level by itself.

Where it fits

Automated warehouses, cold stores, large production plants.

What we install

  • Single- and double-deep racking for stacker cranes
  • Floor rails and top guide rails
  • Racking in freezer and chilled zones
  • Extensions of running warehouses

Our installation process

How we install, step by step

01

Floor check

Flatness and load capacity measured before we start.

02

Setting out

Racking and rail axes marked to the drawing.

03

Frames and beams

Installed from lifts, from the bottom up.

04

Plumb and anchoring

Tolerances to EN 15620.

05

Handover

Measurement report and documentation.

Crew and equipment

Ready for height and for winter

Up to 20 installers on one site, scissor lifts and rotating telehandlers, a permanent site manager. We have worked through a whole Norwegian winter, when lorries with material had to be pulled out of the snow.

Difficult conditions

We also work where the plant cannot stop: at night, in freezer stores and with forklifts and other machines running around us. The client shuts down only one section for the service – the rest of the warehouse keeps working.

In a −30 °C freezer store we repaired derailed and damaged racking. We bonded cracks in the floor with a special resin that cures at very low temperatures – no need to heat the hall or lay a new floor.

Our project

Unil, Våler near Oslo · 2022–2023

For STOW · integrator Swisslog

For STOW we installed the racking in the frozen and ambient parts of Unil’s automated warehouse. Around 20 of our installers at peak, seven months, mostly in winter, with hall temperatures around and below zero. Despite many problems with material, we handed over on schedule and without an accident.

“Perfect. I have never seen a site left this clean.”
